Cheer on the Brooks Beasts at the Indoor Track & Field Championships

While outdoor tracks across the country thaw from winter freezes, indoor racing hits its peak this weekend at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. And after a season full of big races and milestones, the Brooks Beasts are ready to take on the nation’s best.

Cas Loxsom enters the men’s 600 meter run as the world record holder (he broke the record back in January!) and after having run the fastest indoor 800m time in the world this year at the Birmingham Grand Prix.

Team rookies Claudia Saunders, Baylee Mires, Shaquille Walker and Brannon Kidder have all had strong seasons this winter and enter the U.S. Championships with a ton of momentum. Brannon won the 1000 meter run at the Millrose Games in a world-leading time, which is a huge milestone for him in his first indoor season as a professional. Also at Millrose, teammate Garrett Heath set a PR in the 2-mile after a strong showing at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country Run with Team USA the month before.

Here’s the list of who’s running what this weekend.  Championship events begin at 12:30 p.m. Albuquerque time on March 3, with Hannah, Claudia and Baylee kicking things off for the Beasts in the women’s 1000m at 5:16 p.m. on Saturday, March 4. Find a schedule of events here.

Help us wish all of them luck. Go Beasts!
