THE BROOKS BLOG

Running stores all  over the country got into the competitive spirit this summer for the launch of Brooks’ new Ghost running shoe. We asked them to create a haunting store window or in-store display to announce the shoe’s arrival–and they did!

Here are the winning entries. Congratulations to all!

The final first prize winner is Dick Beardsley Running Company in Fargo, ND. Take a look at their Ghost contest video submission.

In 2007 Saturn equipped all of our Brooks field team, THE BROOKS GURUS, with new Saturn Outlooks. Our Gurus are in the field each week visiting specialty running accounts, attending group runs, working events, and can be found wherever runners gather! They now travel to all all of these events in style thanks to Saturn and after this latest car wrap……they will be showing some serious support of our star Olympian Brian Sell!! Check it!saturn

To celebrate the launch of our Heritage Track Jackets, earlier this year we held a contest with our specialty running dealers for the best window display that featured the collection. For their hard work and winning entry, Fleet Feet Jackson, MS will receive Heritage Jackets for the staff and an Olympic viewing party. Congrats!

As a Brooks employee, I get frequently asked: “how do I know what running shoe is best for me?”

I always tell people the best thing to do is visit a local specialty running shop, where you can have an expert do an in-person fitting. Among other things, the right shoe will depend on what you use the shoe for, the shape of your foot, and your degree of pronation. It’s pretty hard to assess these things on your own, so whenever possible it’s best to let an expert help you pick your shoe. The majority of Brooks shoes and apparel are sold through specialty running stores — which makes sense, since it’s the best place to buy them!

Of course, not everybody lives near a specialty shop. In a pinch you can watch our short video on pronation, and consult our online Shoe Advisor. Runnersworld.com also has several helpful resources in their Shoes & Gear section.
