THE BROOKS BLOG

Last weekend was our first time as an official partner at a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon & 1/2 Marathon event. Without a doubt, New Orleans was a fantastic way to kick it off! Thanks to everyone who showed up - we hope you had as great a time as we did. To those who couldn’t make it, there are still plenty of Rock ‘n’ Roll races coming this year (check them out here).

And now for the photos:

Thanks to New Orleans for a great run. Next stop: Dallas, March 14.

We recently received this photo from Pam who’s been running in the Adrenaline™ GTS Series for close to 10,000 miles. Those miles included 10 marathons and 30 pair of shoes. Way to go, Pam!

We jut got this amazing email from former Brooks athlete Gary Fanelli. Thanks, Gary!

Hey!

Here is a picture of my daughter Laura a few days old.

She was delivered in a Brooks Shoe Box…at first I thought a new pair of shoes had arrived BUT it was actually my second daughter Laura.

She just loved sleeping in the Brooks shoe box. She felt safe & secure and very comfortable just like a pair of Brooks shoes.

Laura is a runner and likes Brooks. She has run 17.51 for 5k.

Cheers,

Gary

GO BROOKS!

Name : Nijah Twigg

What is your job at Brooks : Customer Specialist—part of a newly developed customer-support focused team.

Pets : Only child, spoiled rotten, center of our universe, Duncan. All-white beautiful mutt of a dog!

Favorite movie : Princess Bride and Count of Monte Cristo—equally enjoyed.

Explain your love of Zumba : I love this class because I am sore in all of my target muscles the day after, yet during I feel like I’m just dancing.

Your favorite Spring 2010 apparel item : Glycerin T

Why it’s awesome : Soft, luxurious, easy flatter fit, cool breathability and everyday wearability. Transitions from sleep to exercise to casual mall wear. Love it, love it, love it! Perfect with Viva Flare or my fave pair of jeans.

Olympic marathoner and Brooks-sponsored athlete Brian Sell rendered in pasta:

Here we see the finer details of the pastafication: Please note the mustache.

The Brian Sell macaroni sculpture/shrine is housed in "The Beastro," our Brooks HQ employee dining area. An Adrenaline™ candelabra provides just the right lighting.

How do you follow up being a contestant on OXYGEN’s hit show Dance Your Ass Off ? For Karla Guy, the next challenge is P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona ½ Marathon on Sunday, January 17. Karla is running in the Adrenaline . We’re so excited to be part of Karla’s first ever race.

Have a great race, Karla! You’ve done the training, now enjoy the ride—and Run Happy®!

UPDATE: Karla finished strong. Read about her race strategy here. Congrats, Karla!

Going through these old photos is a lot like looking through the high school yearbook. You cringe, you laugh, you reminisce—you realize that they were right when they voted you “Most Likely to Succeed.”

Here’s another creative idea for using all your empty Brooks boxes …make your own Bro-bot! This friendly guy has been with us in the customer service department for the last couple of months thanks to our CS reps Maria and Tara. Not only is he incredibly good looking, he’s also quite festive.

Customer Service would like to wish everyone a very merry holiday and a great recovery run this weekend!

Please note: Brooks Customer Service will be out of the office from Dec. 24 through 27. Send us an email or leave us a voice mail and we’ll get back to you asap on Monday, Dec. 28.

At Brooks, the word “party” is spelled R-U-N! Today’s holiday party started off with a fun run, of course.

We did the ugly sweater contest thing.

Brooks Blue Santa showed up to host the raffle.

And somewhere along the line this happened:

Good times!
