Non-tipsy Tips and Treats for Runners

We’ve all heard of the beer mile, and maybe even tried it ourselves. Our athletes Nick Symmonds  and Katie Mackey tried this past month to win the beer mile championship and didn’t take the title. Turns out it’s incredibly difficult to run on the suds.

So, if you have a New Year’s day run you don’t want to miss out on, why not try a drink that’s light and alcohol-free?

Sprinting Spritzer

Mix equal parts juice and club soda, add a dash of sugar, and top with fresh fruit or maraschino cherries.

Maple & Grapefruit Mocktail

Combine 3 ounces of grapefruit juice and 2/3 ounce of maple syrup. Stir or shake until syrup is dissolved. Pour into glass and add ginger ale or ginger beer, stirring gently to combine. Garnish and enjoy!
