Runners Light Up The Night To Celebrate National Running Safety Month

Brooks celebrated National Running Safety Month by pulling on Nightlife visibility apparel and heading out for a group run at our offices outside of Seattle. How do stay visible while running at night?

Be Seen During Night Running

In celebration of National Running Safety Month, Brooks partnered with retailers to promote ways runners can “Be Seen” during low-light conditions. Last Thursday, we hosted dozens of Nightlife runs across the country, shared running safety tips, and encouraged runners to wear high-visibility apparel and accessories like the Brooks Nightlife Collection.

From Bull City Running Company in Durham, N.C. to Fleet Feet in San Antonio, TX, runners celebrated the longer nights of autumn by layering on Nightlife gear and logged miles together in the cool evening air. Below are photos from some of our Nightlife events held across the country. Did you join us on NightLife run on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012? Post a photo or a comment below.

Over 100 runners joined Brooks in California for Nightlife runs in the towns of Monrovia, Brea, Encino and Fountain Valley. After hosting NightLife events at retailers throughout the week, our local Brooks team member Andrea realized that she needed to always check the pockets of the try-on apparel for glow sticks before loading the washing machine.

After the sun sets, it is time to run!

Be Seen and Run Happy!

Forty runners met at Runner’s Roost in Lakewood for a NightLife run to celebrate National Running Safety Month. How did our Brooks team member Thomas Rand mark the course at night? Glow sticks and holiday lights lit the way.

At Fleet Feet West Hartford, we started off the night with a NightLife fashion show and awarded a head-to-toe Brooks make-over to the brightest dressed runner. The winner then wrapped herself in Christmas tree lights to celebrate her victory.

More than 90 runners joined Brooks team member Glenn Collins in Toledo for a NightLife run last Thursday. To celebrate the night, Glenn tried to make glow-in-the-dark jello. While he reported that the “glow” effect of the jello did not work out, the treat was still delicious.

Over 35 runners met at Fleet Feet Sports for a Nightlife run in Brentwood. What was most impressive was that these runners turned out for a group run the night before a popular 196-mile Ragnar Relay race.
