WA High School Runners Take National Stage at 2012 Brooks PR Invitational

Snohomish, WA’s Amy Eloise Neale is one of the local athletes to watch at 2012 PR Invitational

Each year the Brooks PR Invitational invites the top-ranked high school runners from around the nation to complet together in Seattle. While many of these athletes will be traveling from across the country to race, the field will also be chalk full of local, top-ranked talent.

Leading the list of locals in the Girl’s Mile is Maddie Meyers of the Northwest School and multiple time WA state champ.  Maddie will be joined by Snohomish’s mile and 2-mile state champ Amy Eloise-Neal. The Girls 2-Mile will a stacked race with the Footlocker #1 and #2 racing and will also feature Katie Knight from North Central High School in Spokane.  Katie was the WIAA State Cross Country Champion last fall in Pasco, WA.

Tatum Taylor from Seattle's O'Dea High School is one of the PR Invite favorites

Tatum Taylor from Seattle's O'Dea High School is currently ranked #1 in the 60M dash at 6.79

On the boy’s side, the 2-mile will feature the WIAA State Cross Country champion from Kamiakin, WA.  Armstrong will have plenty of company from his in state rivals Andrew Gardner of Spokane and Izaic Yorks from Tacoma.  Gardner was 6th at the Footlocker Nationals in December and Yorks was 3rd at WIAA State Cross Country Championships.
