What a Record Weekend at the Berlin Marathon

Run Happy Berlin!

Brooks had a fantastic time this past weekend at the 2011 Berlin Marathon. Over 120,000 visitors came to town for this annual race, including some of the fastest marathoners on earth. Thousands visited our Brooks booth at the marathon expo.

Always passionate about injecting Run Happy into everything we do, our Berlin Marathon expo booth included DJs spinning music, hourly dance shows featuring a choreographed dance to OKGO’s “Here It Goes Again“, and free coffee, espresso and smoothie drinks for expo visitors.

The highlight of our Brooks expo booth was the European premier of our newPureProject line of lightweight shoes. While PureProject does not arrive in stores until October 1, fans were able to view the shoes at our expo and learn about the new technologies integrated into the PureConnect, PureFlow, PureCandace and PureGrit.

Following a fantastic Berlin Marathon Expo, was the race itself. We were proud to be present at this now historic event where Patrick Makau set a new world marathon record  of 2:03:38, winning the race for men. Florence Kiplagat, another Kenyan runner, won the women’s race in 2:19:44.

Congratulations to all the competitors!

Run Happy!
