Running Tips, Shoes & Gear

Brooks experiences a different kind of NightLife

We’re dedicated to runners because we are runners ourselves. Brooks isn’t just a shoe company or an apparel company; Brooks is a running company. Running is what we do.

In 2010, we had an internal program – the Brooks Race Series – to encourage all of us to run more often. Every employee who ran a half marathon or longer race, plus two other races, and volunteered at a Brooks event earned two tickets to Seattle’s amazing Teatro ZinZanni.

Last night over 30 Brooks employees and their friends descended upon the beautiful spiegeltent for a fantastic evening that blended circus, cabaret, and a five-course feast. Two of us got, shall we say, special treatment…

Ian as Romeo

Ian as Romeo

Customer Service Specialist Ian Reinhardt – a.k.a. “Sir Ian of Bothell” – beat out two worthy challengers in “Elizabethan elimiDATE” to win the coveted role of Romeo to hilarious comedienne Christine Deaver’s Juliet. Ian may well spend the rest of his days being serenaded with “Like A Virgin”… but we will always remember his contest-winning dancing… and his very big sword.

Melody with El Vez

Melody with El Vez

Melody Richards, our Bothell Outlet Manager, was brought on stage for some one-on-one time with local legend El Vez. HR regulations prevent full disclosure of the events… but a picture is worth a thousand words. It’s worth noting that the Brooks Blue feather boa Melody is holding is her own…

Special thanks go to Ian and Melody for allowing these images to be published, Steve DeKoker for overseeing the Race Series, and the cast and crew of Teatro ZinZanni for showing us such a good time.
