Carbohydrates or “carbs” for short, are nutrients made up of simple and complex sugars packed into bread, pasta and running foods like energy gels. Runners love carbs for a reason. They power both short- and long-distance running and help keep you happy and running strong on race day. To celebrate these amazing nutrients, Brooks has created a new race expo booth, Carb Happy, Run Happy, debuting at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Health & Fitness Expo.
In town for the Chicago Marathon? Swing past the race expo and checkout our booth. With a 16ft hanging fork suspended from the ceiling, you can’t miss it! Our Carb Happy booth includes a giant pasta bowl brimming with noodles on the roof. Once you arrive at the bowl, you’ll be greeted by the Brooks Maitre’d and his staff that will work the treadmills for your free running gait analysis. You’ll also have a chance to listen to a live accordion player, have your picture taken at our Smile Machine photo booth (you’ll run with a giant meatball and take your picture home as a souvenir), and receive free prizes including a chance to win some Brooks Runaroni (real pasta in the shape of shoes and runners). Fresh warm pasta will also be served in the booth on Friday and Saturday starting at 11am while supplies last.
Marathon champion, Olympian and Hanson-Brooks athlete Desi Davila will also be visiting the booth and signing autographs Saturday October 6, 2012 from 2 – 4 p.m. CST.
The Chicago Marathon Health & Fitness Expo is taking place at the McCormick Place Convention Center; North Building, Hall B1, 2301 S. Martin Luther King Dr. Chicago, IL 60616. The expo will be open Friday, October 5th from 9 A.M. – 8 P.M. and Saturday, October 6th from 9 A.M. – 6 P.M.
If you miss seeing Carb Happy, Run Happy in Chicago, you’ll have a chance to see it again next weekend in Toronto at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Expo and at the St. Louis Rock ‘n’ Roll Expo on October 19th and 20th.
