Derek Scott of Brooks Team Indiana Elite broke the magical four minute mark for the mile at the Festival of Miles elite race in St Louis on Saturday. Scott ran 3:57.87 to become the 324th US citizen to break four minutes in the mile, joining teammate Jordan Fife (US sub-4 #305). Scott placed 2nd in the race to 2008 US Olympian Leo Manzano, who also set a lifetime best running 3:55. Scott has now set PR’s in 2009 in the indoor mile, indoor 3k, outdoor mile, and outdoor 5k. Scott will attempt to set a new PR in the outdoor 1500m on Saturday at the American Miler’s Club races in Indianapolis.
