THE BROOKS BLOG

Hey, Brooks fans: we’re psyched to announce the launch of the new Brooks Run Happy Group!

Working with our friends over at Seattle-based fitness community site Sweat365, we’ve created the Brooks Run Happy Group as a place where you can connect with other runners and Brooks fans, blog about what makes you Run Happy, easily track your workouts, and join challenges for prizes!

Starting tomorrow
(November 1), we’ll be offering monthly prizes of Brooks running shoes and apparel for the most miles run, the most calories burned, and the most hours exercised. (Yes, you’re on the honor system. But as Marion Jones reminded us on Oprah yesterday, cheaters never win!)

We hope you join us, and let us know what else you’d like to see. We’ll be launching more features and fun stuff soon.

Run Happy!

Remember to hydrate, and get your run in before eating all that candy. Happy Halloween!

This time, Trail Runner, the only magazine dedicated to the off-road running community, presented BioMoGo their Sprout Award for “Best Green Innovation.”

New this year, the Sprout Awards recognize a race director, company, community leader, and innovation that have made steps to achieve environmental and social consciousness in 2008. To check out the other winners, pick up the December issue of Trail Runner, when it hits newsstands this November.

Just one more day to Halloween - now get off the computer (or treadmill)…. and go RUN OUTSIDE!

Here he is again, causing more Halloween-week mayhem for Seattle-area runners!

The Brooks Ghost was spotted over at Seattle running hotspot Green Lake causing some mischief! Here’s the first little clip - I’ll post one more each day this week…

Happy Halloween!

A popular magazine for active women, Fitness honors Brooks and our BioMoGo technology in its “Fit 50” feature.

Fitness magazine’s team of editors searched high and low for the 50 greatest people, places and breakthrough ideas that made 2008 the best year for your body yet. Look no further than #18 for a cheer to Brooks for introducing eco-friendlier BioMoGo in our running shoes.

What are the other 49? The “Fit 50” feature appears in the November/December issue of Fitness, on newsstands now.

Take a tour through our Green Room to delve deeper into BioMoGo and other sustainability efforts in the works at Brooks.

Brian Sell grits it out

Check out the latest interview with 2008 Olympian (and Hansons-Brooks athlete) Brian Sell, over at The Cassidy Feed. Brian talks about how he balances running with family and work… how every day is “try to beat Sell day”… and why he thinks hard work and dedication trump natural talent.

High-performance, responsive, plush, highly cushioned, supportive … these are some of the words that generally come to mind when we try to describe Brooks running shoes.

A little known fact: all Brooks running shoes meet vegan standards. (The one exception in the entire Brooks footwear line is the walking shoes.)

Running stores all  over the country got into the competitive spirit this summer for the launch of Brooks’ new Ghost running shoe. We asked them to create a haunting store window or in-store display to announce the shoe’s arrival–and they did!

Here are the winning entries. Congratulations to all!
