THE BROOKS BLOG

So, I head over to Beijing on the 18th for the last week of the games and I can’t be more excited! I get to watch all these amazing events and most importantly the men’s marathon on the 24th! I will be there for a week and although I am obviously not competing in Beijing like Brian the air pollution is still pretty alarming.
I planned on running every day while I was in Beijing and I just can’t figure out if that is even going to be possible. I hear so many different stories and I am not sure which to believe.
www.beijingairblog.com has been pretty informative and portrays a bleak outlook concerning the pollution levels during the games. On the other side, most of the athletes are saying that the air isn’t bad at all and that they are more worried about the intense heat and humidity! Either way, I think the situation bodes well for Brian! He just seems to have a much smaller margin of error than most when conditions are at their worst.
Just as confident as I am of Brian’s success, I am also sure that I will be doing my best to update this blog daily from Beijing with news, pictures, and maybe a video or two! Till then……
